Battery watering system
Can someone recommend a good battery watering system 48 volt Club Car with four 12s? I don't just want to pick one. I'd like to not spend a couple hundred bucks and find out that it's junk.

Re: Battery watering system
They are all junk, as sooner or later something causes them to either over or under water the cells... You are much better off checking your batteries yourself once a month...

Re: Battery watering system
Roger. OK, is there a better method to fill batteries and get them at the correct level?
I just did mine this morning and I think I might have overfilled a cell. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Re: Battery watering system
Lots of us just learn to use a water bottle with a small hole drilled in the cap or an empty mustard bottle etc. If you feel that you overfilled a cell use a small turkey baster to remove the extra water.

Re: Battery watering system
OK. I bought a used cart with new batteries. I've had it for about a month or 6 weeks. Not knowing, I would just plug the cart in to charge every night. I haven't gotten it anywhere near 50 percent drained. Is it too late to do the break in procedure now?
50 percent of a 48 volt system should be 48.4 after sitting for 1 minute. Correct? Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

Re: Battery watering system
I bought one of these 2 gal. beverage containers for $7. I attached a 1/4" clear hose to it and then added a 1/4" irrigation shut-off valve near the end of the hose. I place the container on top of the seat back and use the hose to fill the battery cells - using the shut-off valve to control the water flow. Never spill a drop!

I used one of those until it froze over last winter and split open. Have been meaning to pick up another one but haven't yet. I use enough water in my fleet that I usually buy 10 gallons at a time at walmart and that lasts about 6 months. I've been just using a clear plastic bottle cut in half to pour into the batteries. |
