Thank you. I'll check this evening. The motor shorted shouldn't affect the solenoid ground, should it? If the controller is bad the cart will most likely be sold for parts.

The motor "speaks" to the controller and tells it whether the cart is rolling away, speed its going through the speed sensor and so forth...If the motor is shorted and is telling the controller somethings wrong it may not activate(wake up) and send ground to solenoid...Its not always the case...just stating what I have seen personally over the years...

Didn't get to do any checking last evening. Ran out of time and daylight.

The motor checked OK. Then using the provided flow chart I rechecked all my checking. I'm still not sure about the ground to the solenoid but the solenoid seems to be bad. With it off the cart and using long jumper wires it dosen't click when I connect 48 volts to the small terminals. Where is the best place to buy a new one? Site sponsors?

Indeed...Scottyb has a site in the sponsors page cartsunlimited.net that sells heavy duty replacements!

Okay, now I'm all confused. 200amp, 400amp, peak, continous, oh my. Which one do i need, my cart is all stock. I've seen them from $20.00 to $120.00. I'm thinking the sw180 from scottyb's site.

Well, you asked what solenoid for a "stock" cart, so I gave you a stock yamaha part number for your cart. I dont think scottyB sells OEM yamaha parts, but Plowman does.
