Default Help me keep up!

Good morning guys!

I have a 1995 club car DS. I used to be quick at the park but now with all the people getting into newer carts I can't even keep up!

Few friends have newer club cars and simply got speed magnets to help them out. I'm tired of eating dust!

I'm wondering what the best bang for my buck is. I'd like to speed up a bit without breaking the bank.

I'm all stock right now with about 5 year old batteries. This coming winter, I will be replacing the batteries and I'd like to hear your thoughts on whats best. Should I use the stock motor and grab a 400amp controller? Do we have "plug and play controllers"?

Thanks for your advice, time and reading this!

They will preprogam the controller. It will be plug and play but, some fine tuning may be needed. Dave at revolution will get you straight. Start with that, add a volt gauge and you aren’t far from batteries based on age but, if the pack is healthy you can wait.

You are right. The 95 CC DS 48v is one of the slowest 48v ever made. You will need a 500 amp controller, 400 solenoid, and an Admiral A1 motor or PQ rewind for speed at the very least. PQ also has some other speed motor options. But whatever the choice you will need more than just a controller or just a motor to put this cart back in the game.
