Default 1990 V-Glide melt down

1990 Club Car melted original V-Glide. It also melted the replacement V-Glide as well? Friend claims he washed the cart and it never worked there after. He did not wash the battery/motor compartment. I found the V-Glide wiper broken and melted. I replaced it with what was advertised on Amazon as an OEM, however I don't believe it was an OEM (no where on it did it say Club Car). The contacts that melted with the wiper arm were the two highest speed contacts. Not sure where to go from here?

Check the F&R micro switch. They are subject to failure due to water intrusion.

Thanks for your reply Scottyb. How would I go about checking it and would this cause a V-Glide meltdown?

if the top 2 melted it probably wasnt adjusted right and was between 2 pads .......those carts should be driven off or wide open.....

Check for broken resistor coils. A broken coil will cause the v glide to arc severely. I burnt up 2 one time before I realized a coil was broken.
