NOCO 48v charger
I just purchased a NOCO 48v charger & have a couple of questions. If I choose to install the charger onboard, can I just connect the red & black from the charger to the pos & neg on opposite ends of the pack? does the OBC remain intact in that set up or do I still have to bypass it regardless?

Re: NOCO 48v charger
I'd also like to use the "sense" wire which I think this charger has that feature. I also want to explore using the factory CC plug & leaving the charger off-board. Fyi, I have an Alltrax 500a controller

Re: NOCO 48v charger
That charger can be used On-Board or Off Board. You may have the Direct Wire kit now. If not:
Here is the Direct Wire kit https://no.co/gxc002 You need this plug for OEM https://no.co/gxc006 |

Re: NOCO 48v charger
Is the Controller an XCT model?
The connection is slightly different if mounted on-board or using the charger receptacle. Did You decide if it is going to be on-board or not? |

Re: NOCO 48v charger
The cart is an '03 CC Pathway, so whatever Alltrax controller is used on it. I purchased it a few years ago from Dave. I might just go the simple route & mount it off board.

Re: NOCO 48v charger
They have both Series (big lever or Reversing Contactor to change directions) and Sepex (IQ - rocker switch for FNR) models so you need to identify what you have.
In either case you need to by-pass the OBC charger current control by cutting the two black 12ga cables that go into the OBC body and splicing them together. As far as the sense wire, if the cart is Series you need a SPDT relay to disable the cart while the charger is plugged and if Sepex is just a matter of a wire change and a program change on the Controller. |

Re: NOCO 48v charger
It has a rocker switch. I'm not computer savvy to reprogram the controller, can I do it any other way?
