Default 96 Club Card DS just quit

Driving up my back driveway like I have hundreds of times before, and it suddenly stopped. Batteries are in good shape and the solenoid clicks in either forward or back positions. Pointers appreciated.

Just found the problem. One of two leads to the motor is completely off the stud. The stud itself has essentially no thread left as a result of arcing that must have been going on for awhile. I've ordered a coupling nut so I can remove the nut at the motor and use the other end to reattach the cable. The lug on the cable looks OK though has obviously seen some arcing. I think the stud is the grounded one as the other stud looks to be insulated. Might I have a problem when removing the nut on the stud? Is it going to stay tight to the motor housing or will it come loose making for a real big problem. Thanks.

If need be, you can buy new brushes with the studs attached, so some handiwork can get you nice and fresh.

The other cable does not look too healthy either.

Probably better to replace the brushes and stud rather attempt a repair.

I don't see a way of taking the nut off without breaking the insulator.

You could grind that down flat and weld a bolt upside down to it to "fix" it.

There is no way to doctor up the remaining stud as the threads are gone. So - it looks like I'll be needing to replace things. Where can one purchase the brushes and studs? Are there only two or are there four? I was able to get a picture of the label on the motor and it's a GE motor model 5BC49JB3071. Thanks for your input.

OK got the brushes and insulators on order. Is it necessary to remove the motor to do the repair? Thanks again for pointers and helpful answers.

I've never done it in the cart.

If that motor runs good, and you want to save money and labor, why don't you just grind away whats left of the stud and weld about a 3/4 inch bolt with the same size threads to it and call it a day?
