OP, I'm wondering if you left a part (insert for the one on the right) on the motor. ? Somebody sells one like that but there is an insert that makes the oblong hole like the one on the left

Yes, that's why I think the insert is still on the motor. The new one you have should be correct. The one from country cat is way too expensive.

You were sent the correct one. The insert for the disc to motor shaft interface is missing from your old one. It must still be on the motor shaft.

okay new motor break installed, followed the directions from kernal and the cart still wont run. switching from off to R or F I hear two clicks but not the typical third if I recall correctly. not sure if the third is the break release?

Thoughts?

Thanks

One correction about following directions, I don’t recall what the key position was when I removed the old unit since it was late, dark, and I didn’t knew at the time it might matter.

Replacing the Park Brake on an E-Z-GO RXV

Remove the two T27 torx screws on the rear cover
Choke the wheels
Disconnect the negative cable on the battery pack
Turn the ignition key to reverse, wait till the reverse indicator becomes silent then turn key off
Disconnect wire harness from motor brake
Remove the three 10mm hex screws and lock washers from brake
If bolts are rusty replace them
Remove brake if there is residue on motor be sure to clean it use a wire brush
Position the brake with the connector at the top, install the three hex screws loosely.
Connect wire harness to the motor brake, re-connect battery negative cable
Turn ignition to neutral, turn Run/Tow switch to Tow position, this provides power to the brake to align the disc material
Set torque wrench between 53 to 65 in. lbs (6-8 Nm) and tighten screws be sure not to over tighten
Turn key back to the off position
Move Run/Tow switch back to Run position
Put rear back cover on

This is great info as a new (2011) RXV owner. It’s a learning curve from my older TXT.

What is wrong with the HD Switch brake that many seem to love or hate vs the OEM part.
