Re: charging in run or tow mode?
My cart starts out high and works its way down after a hour or so. When I had a bad batterie it would go to a high charge rate and stay there until the charge shut off. The worse the batterie got the longer the charge took.

Re: charging in run or tow mode?
I talked to tech from EZ GO and he said its probably a bad cell, that it never reaches a full charge and continuously asking the charger for voltage and the charger never turns off until it trips the time out current . That's probably why the SOC meter never reset's as i posted in another post, the meter is looking for 42 volts to reset.I'm going to check the batteries with a hydrometer and see if i can isolate the bad cell.

Re: charging in run or tow mode?
well I tested the batteries this morning and here are the results.
total pack voltage was 38.2 volts Batt 1 voltage 6.35 hydro in good range batt 2 voltage 6.35 hydro good (1 cell toward lower side but still good range) batt 3 voltage 6.42 hydro very good batt 4 voltage 6.39 hydro very good batt 5 voltage 6.38 hydro good batt 6 voltage 6.33 1 cell good 2 cells fair around 1.225 on hydro plugged charger back after setting for almost 2 days, started out at 4 to 5 amps then immediately fell down to 1 to 1.5 amps, checked charger output leads at battery post and it was putting out 40.2 volts Can some one analyze this info and tell me whats going on, I assuming battery 6 is the weak link and might be the cause of my problem's(charger not turning off, actually times out after 12 hrs and the digital SOC meter will not automatically reset.) Thanks For any help David I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! |

Re: charging in run or tow mode?
use a digital volt meter, when your batteries get close to finishing your charger should be reading about 42 volts. from what i've been told.
