I'll be doing it all as soon as I can, but.... the wife is starting to glance sideways at me when I mention upgrades since I just bought the buggie last month

I just went through the same scenario when I bought my hunting buggy a month ago. Let me tell you I could not believe the difference in adding 12 more volts. Like someone said in an earlier post, you will not be disappointed.

you do not need to use your bagwell if you add 2 more batts., there is room on each side of your batt pack for a batt. however, you must move your controller to right side of cart on frame. western[ezgo] has built many carts like this with 8-6volt batts and they are fast. kirk

Here's a photo of 7x6v, to install the 8th one you will need to relocate your controller and possibly your F-N-R switch.
The other alternative is the bagwell. |

Will the stock 36 volt motor handle the 48 volts? If you will have to change the controller, how much current can the motor take at 48 volts? What size controller can you go to and not blow out the motor?

I have gone as big as 650a without problems, the controller allows the motor to draw X amount ... it does not force amperage upon the motor.
