Cooling Fan
Just purchased a 2003 TXT and am questioning the need for the electric fan the previous owner installed by cutting an opening in the bagwell. I've disconnected it as it's rather loud and runs whenenver the keyswitch is in the on position. Is there any benefit in keeping the fan with the only mods being the governor adjustment and adding a shorter belt? I would think the cart would be a bit quieter if the fan is pulled out and hole repaired. Another thought would be to leave it and add a thermostat so that it only kicks on if the engine were to get really hot.

Re: Cooling Fan
Sound to me like you answered your own question with the thermos stat idea...

Re: Cooling Fan
does it pull out (exhaust) or push in the air? seems like it would be best if pulled out.

Re: Cooling Fan
My 2 cents would be to get rid of it. If you have a heat problem, its likely from plugged up fins and/or running too lean. If you wanna get cooler/cleaner air to the cooling fins, duct the inlet to the engine blower to that hole or somewhere other than underneath.
