Default 36 volt speed

I know 48 volts equals more speed but I was wondering if 18-20 mph possible for 36 volt because i really want to stay 36 volt.

It would be possible with taller gears and tires or even a speed motor, but it would take a while and flat ground to get there.....

Wink Re: 36 volt speed

My 04 PDS cart hit's 24MPH with just me riding. It's 36 volts stock 04 PDS 300amp controller. I have 17" Miata wheels on it with a PQ motor with shaved magnet.

Yes the bandit motor will get you more speed but it will use more amperage to get up to speed. That is the rub, you need to allow the motor to draw more amps. I am guessing this is a series cart with a F&R shift lever?

Speed is a little harder to get in a series cart. They are made more for torque than speed. It can be done and they are very durable at it but it takes a bit more doing than a sepex cart for speed. You will need to upgrade the controller, solenoid, Cables, and F&R. Then you will be ready for speed mods like any one or a combination of the things below:
Speed motor (PQ Bandit or a rewind)
Taller gears and/or taller tires
A voltage increase

Hope this helps.
