Default speaker location

I have a gas ez go and was wondering where to put the speakers. I first wanted to put them under the front seat on the panel where the gear selector and choke is but read somewhere that it may get too hot. What do ya'll think? I seen the pictures of the speakers under the cup holders and kind of liked that but was just wondering about the first location.
