89 gas ez go gas issues
Well here goes. I have an 89 ez go txt gas powerd cart. I bought it from a guy for dirt cheap and it has sat for a really long time. To begin this amazing frustrating adventure. It used to to turn over when pressing the pedle but that was do to a stuck silenoid. Now im still not getting fuel. I have replaced the crankseals, compressions at 110,115. I took the hose from pump to carb off and it squirts fuel out in a pulsing mannor then when u put the hose on from pump side and leave it off carb side it doesnt pump fuel. I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it. Everything looked fine. Anything helps

Are you sure the hose isn't clogged?

Re: 89 gas ez go gas issues
Yeah, that sounds likely, as if it's pumping without the hose but not through it then definitely (for starters) replace the culprit hose

Re: 89 gas ez go gas issues
if it is not pumping thru a good hose you aren't getting enough fuel pressure. you said it was sitting up. did you replace the fuel and filter? also need to check the p/u tube in the tank to be sure it is attached. then you need to prime the system before it will pump. have some one press the pedal while using a rag, blow into the tank to get the fuel to the pump. if all that doesn't work, pull the pump and noting the alignment marks, take it apart and check for cracks in the diaphram. new pumps run about $33.

Re: 89 gas ez go gas issues
Sorry to hijack a thread but I am in the exact same position. Cart was dead, thought it was the solenoid as the battery in it is 8 months old. Put in a new solenoid and it ended up being the battery. Cart ran once around the block and died in flight, like it ran out of gas. New plug, checked all lines, etc...and the plug isnt wet. Thoughts?

Re: 89 gas ez go gas issues
blazman, mine was doing similar took mine apart(fuel pump), and it had a bubble of water in it, the bubble was heavier than the gas and it just moved back and forth ,, could get a little gas thru but not enough to run the cart. I drained the pump and dumped the tank ( a pain getting it out of the cart ) fresh gas. Pumped like a champ.
