Default $15.00 Digital SOC Meter

Found this meter on E-Bay. I tried to hook this up on my 36 volt EZ-GO and the meter just said 0.00. to my wires on the dash, although my mulit-meter said 38 volts. I had the red positive and black neg. There are two more wires on this meter a green and blue. After some more thinking and moving the wires around the meter did'nt say anything anymore. I already had the hole in the dash so I got another meter (same one) and it's sitting in front of me as I speak, afraid I might make the same $15.00 error again. Could someone check this site and tell me what I did wrong, and steer me in the right direction. Thanks In Advance. (sorry, just cut and paste 2 sources below)

It's a 4 pin meter.

Pin 1 ..... 12v+
Pin 2 ..... 12v-
Pin 3 ..... 36v+
Pin 4 ..... 36v-

Looks like you need +12v on Pin 1 Ground on Pin 2 (from the same source as the 12v) and + from battery pack to pin 3 and ground from battery pack to pin 4. Dip switch 1 - 3 off, Dip switch 4 off, Dip switch 5 on. That's if I understand the listing on ebay correctly.
