G14 it should not matter if forward or reverse. If it needs choke to run guess I would clean carb first, make sure carb is getting fuel from pump. Check airbox for excess dirt or if leaking air.

Sorry so long on post the problem someone had put a new belt on . The finger on the clutch where on top of each other. So it was trying to take off in high gear so to speak.

You will need a secondary clutch puller to get it off. A steering wheel puller may work, also.

Before you take it apart, have you run the car in neutral to observe clutch sheave movement on both clutches? It may just need grease in both zirks to free them up. (Just one pump).

Then take the cover off the primary clutch to look for a broken weight or something out of place in the primary clutch. Not saying it can't happen, but never seen a secondary spring broken on a Yamaha.

Yea u can see down in the secondary where the belt was running ,now the line goes down farther. I can push the inner sheave over real easy something is going on with the spring or something in there.

Yea when I run in neutral the secondary opens real fast and the belt goes way down in and the drive closes up
