what kind a carb will work on a G1 cart besides stock original

Anything that you can bolt up will work, however, if you go too big you will have more negative effect than positive. Why are you wanting to change the carb? Does yours need rebuilt? Or are you after more performance?
The stock carbs are mega simple to disassemble, clean, and rebuild. You can jet drill out the jets for a little more power, just don't go too far or it will bog down. Motorcycle carbs will work for this motor, but most of them are too big to be a good fit and will bog the motor down with too much fuel. Also the choke setups are not ideal, unless you can find one that has a remote choke, like from an atv of some sort. It would have to be one from a similarly sized engine. I looked into doing that but I decided that the stock setup was the most reliable and I wasn't willing to spend money and take a chance that it wouldn't work. |
