club car snubber
This is most likely a dumb question , but what is the purpose of the snubber? looks like to me it creates unnecessary movement. what do you think?

Re: club car snubber
The snubber is a somewhat free floating rubber bumper on the front of Club Car engine pans.
It allows the engine pan to flex and move with the suspension. If you bolt the snubber bracket down to the frame, something will break, (most likely, the snubber bracket) so... don't do it! Hookm's Heim joint isn't a bad idea, but, it makes me think it would create engine vibration through the frame, although, I've never done it, so I could be wrong! |

Re: club car snubber
I don't know why you would want to remove it - it has a purpose. I just bought a new one (better design?) to replace my old one (must be 13yrs old). It was inexpensive and my cart performs great. My old one looks like the first pic and my new one like the second. Easy install.

The engine pan moves up and down quite a bit (especially when driving off road) and you don't realize how much cushioning the snubber actually does until it falls apart like mine did. Without the snubber in there functioning properly everytime the pan moves up or down you get a decent thud as it settles back in. As Lockman said, do not bolt that down or you will be binding up your suspension and eventually you will find the weakest link in your now solid rear end. |
