Re: club car snubber
Just did my snubber a few weeks back. It can be a bit tricky and I tried to avoid dropping the rear end do get it done but after wasting a bunch of time playing around with the jack and jackstands trying to get the angle right so that I could cram the new one in I ended up just unbolting the front and rear leaf spring bolts, rolling the whole engine pan back an inch or two and slipping the new one on.
If you go right to the springs first it's probably a 30 minute job, I turned it into a multi hour job by trying to save time. :) |

Re: club car snubber
Old post, but wanted to give some relevant info. This weekend I had to install a new snubber. Mine is a 96ish club car and has the welded tabs top and bottom on the crossmember, so no luck being able to unbolt mine. I tried for a half hour to slide it in from the side and also from the top, and even went so far as to remove some of the material to make it thinner so I could install, and was using a floor jack to move the cradle up and down. None of that worked. I finally ended up removing all four leaf spring bolts and disconnected the shocks from the cradle bottom mounts. That allowed me to slide the whole thing back, and then I jacked up the cradle front by about 2" and installed the snubber. Do yourself a favor and save all the headache, and just remove the leaf spring bolts and the shocks, and install that way.

Re: club car snubber
More relevant info. Only the 92-96 models should be welded on 84-91 is a bolt on as is 97 and newer.

Re: club car snubber
My buddy wanted to cut and bolt up his 94 snubber bracket, My common sense told me, to tell him...
"With all of the bouncing and jumping the front of the engine pan does, I'm not exactly sure how long the front of the tubular pan would hold up with bolt holes drilled through it!" He listened to my common sense, and painstakingly ground off the welds, and welded a new bracket on. .02 |

Re: club car snubber
Any new advice for installing one of these?
Or am I undoing shocks/springs/leafs? |

It's a 2005 David!

Put a floor jack under the engine pan and jack it up... just a little bit so it's off of the frame, then remove the 2 mounting bolts where the bracket meets the engine pan, install the snubber on the bracket, (while holding it in your hand) then, remount the bracket w/snubber to the engine pan! Click pic to enlarge... (Note: your bracket is upside down compared to mine, it's normal, keep it that way!) Snubber1.jpg |

Re: club car snubber
The entire engine pan / powertrain assembly has to be slid backwards to get it off. Or...... break off the aluminum piece of the frame above the snubber, jack up the engine pan, slide the old one off, slide the new one on, and weld/bolt the aluminum piece back on.
