Default g9 gas fuel issues

Hi all,

Just purchased a 93 G9 gas Yamaha. To get it to start you have to choke it even when warm. I can choke it and it starts and will run full throttle as long as i keep pedal depressed don't even have to be full throttle. But as soon as i leave up on pedal it stops like it should. Press pedal again and have to choke it for it to start again. I even ran it with pedal depressed for about three to four minutes to be sure it was warmed up. This is all with the back wheels up off the ground no load.

This is everything i have tried

checked for spark and inspected plug great spark replaced anyway cause cart is new to me.

checked hoses for cracks block to crank and so on all looked fine even took them off and plugged one end checked with vacuum gauge, all good there as well.

took line off carb pressed pedal seems to be plenty of fuel going through line

took carb off and took it all apart jets and all, looked clean soaked it over night in a good quality carb re-builders cleaner then sprayed all passages and jets with carb cleaner and put back together. Only thing seemed odd was the only adjustment screw was set at 2 3/4 turns on the forums i seen should be around 1 1/2 reset it to that and still the same out come.

checked oil and oil cap seems like a little smell of gas but oil level is right on the fuel mark will change the oil anyway cause this cart is new to me and don't know when it was last changed.

Took fuel pump apart to check for any gunk in there it was real clean even checked diaphragms and valves in pump all looked good there as well.

Would greatly appreciate any other suggestions to try or to check out

Thanks to all in advance

This little guy or one like it needs to be cleaned with a wire from a wirebrush
or a torch tip cleaner.
Also did you remove the inlet needle valve and clean, and adjust float level;?

Thanks for the quick response,

I did clean that one, it didn't seem plugged but I will take apart again and see if maybe there was some crud in the line. I did clean the tank all out put in fresh gas then purged the line to get any left over gas or crud out but maybe didn't do it long enough. Do you have instructions on setting the float level.

Thanks again for your help.

Yamaha's are picky when it comes to air/fuel mixture. Make sure the plastic spacer from manifold to carb isn't cracked and air box is completely sealed. Do you have all the parts to the air box? (http://yamahagolfcar.com/partsandservice/default.asp) I'd also make sure no fuel lines are reversed or oversize if you replaced them. Also the fuel filter on these is in the bottom of the tank and can get filled with trash pretty quick (I doubt this is your problem but thought I would mention it).

With the carb removed invert it and the float should be level with the bowl seat.
The center passage is real picky about any varnish at all.
