G1 carburator adjustment
Anyone know the factory needle valve settings for the G1? I just got one the other day and the previous owner has it running slobbering rich and I want to lean it out so it doesn't put out clouds of smoke, but don't want to get it too lean.

Re: G1 carburator adjustment
Here is a pretty handy manual, its for 84 but there very simaler. Your answer is down around page 46. Also could be the type of oil, try yamalube really does seem to work the best and no smoke. http://yamahagolfcar.com/partsandser...0082_L9AXV.pdf

Re: G1 carburator adjustment
Pull the air mixture screw out, it should have a sharp point (or its damaged), turn in till lightly seated, then 1 1/2 turns out is stock. Maybe also your muffler is full of un used oil and carbon, look at the top of gas Yamaha page for the sticky, barbequing your muffler. It does really work.
