Default G2 shuts down after it warms up

I was having a problem getting my cart to run, and thought it was the valves. I adjusted them and it starts right up now but, after it gets warmed up it falls flat on its face and quits running. Any suggestions would be great, Thanks

Check for loose or dirty wire connection, but its probably a bad TCI. When it get hot in the engine bay, the TCI electronic board expands and a solder connection looses contact. There is no test for a bad TCI, Test other components, if they test good, its suspected the TCI is bad.

Could maybe be the coil too, but TCI seems more common (though not that common overall). Easy way is check the spark after it stops. You might be able to hose down the coil or TCI with cold water (not under pressure) and cool it, then see if it works. Not a scientific test but might work to verify problem location. Is your valve lash around .004, then that should not be the problem. Check spark when it quits to make sure that is the problem. If it has spark, try pulling the plug boot off part way so there is a gap from the wire to the plug tip. I had this work for me when a plug fouled, it makes the spark stronger if it has to jump a little gap in there. If spark is weak it will not work. The pickup on the flywheel could be bad, but not common in these the TCI usually goes most often if anything. Wire connection issues are 100x the problem as components failing but usually not heat related.

If it has good spark could it be a fuel issue.

Sorry, I'm new to golf carts but, I've had quads and dirt bikes most of my 41yrs of living. What is a TCI and where is it located?
Also, I was messing with it today and I've got it to the point that if I hold down the gas pedal it will run hit the rev limiter, fade out, rev up hit the limiter, completely quit running with the generator turning over the motor, it will fire back up and just continue to keep doing this over and over. It's almost making me think it is the carb or fuel pump. Some of the times if I pull the choke it will fire up quicker. I also have noticed a lot of air bubbles in the fuel line is this normal or air leak, I've never used a clear fuel line before? Thanks for any ideas

Sounds like fuel to me if it starts back up right away. It is common for old fuel lines to crack check that, the pulse line also. There can be air in the line say at the top, but not bubbles moving like air is being pumped in. Take the line off the carb and put into a container, see how much fuel is pumped on the starter. Normal it would gush every rotation, not much pressure but fuel comes out every time....which is way more than that engine could ever hope to use.

Well, I figured it out, after many hours of trying all sorts of different ideas and things that would just pop in my head. I decided that I was going to change that old nasty fuel filter and replace all the fuel line from the tank to the carb. As I was doing this all I could think about was a thread I read about how the fuel was suppose to pump through the line and mine was barely moving at all? So I started replacing the lines starting at the fuel filter (that was a treat). Moved to the fuel pump, while I was changing out those 3 lines, I thought to my self, I wonder if I can find some pictures on-line to make sure I have the lines all correct? Because, I just knew I had them all installed correctly? I came across some really good motor pictures that must have been on EBAY or something and I'm looking and everything looks correct, except one little item? Wait for it?
The little one way valve that is suppose to come off the valve cover, I had installed so, it was coming off the lower crankcase fitting? Opps, so, that took about a hour to switch around with my big mittens and a shop mirror. finished installing all the lines except the one going to the carb so, I could see if the fuel was moving, of course. Turned the key and hit the pedal and it fired right up and is running like a champ.
I just wanted to thank all of you and your great ideas. I have now branched into removing all the body, painted it all, put it all back together and adding diamond plating in place of all the old rubber mats. Now I just need to talk the wife into new seat covers and knobby tires.
Thank You, Everyone
