My G2 shift cables seized up !!!!!!!!!!!
I had pulled the motor to replace some seals and gasket. While the motor was out I was checking the lights. SO I got the motor back in and everything hooked up and the motor sounded pretty good so I decided to take it for a ride. Went to shift it and it would not go into f or r. I had also rerouted the gas pedal cable to the carb. I thought maybe something happened and jammed the trans.
So I pulled the back off and found that the cables would not move. Pulled the lever off the trans and it shifted just fine. As has been said here before RUN ALL YOUR GROUNDS TO THE BATT NEG. What happened with the engine out I lost my grounds and I had some to the frame. Turned on the 55watt lights and the cables acted as the ground. So I now have to replace the cables. I did not do as I was told to do. Bob T |
