My cart won't start again!
Does anyone else work on their cart more than they ride it? Besides being in over my head after I get past checking the tire pressure this cart has whipped two pretty decent mechanics. Here is the run down again. Any help is appreciated as it is a holiday weekend and I'm gonna have to walk to the community BBQ again! LOL
New air cleaner. New fuel. New fuel filter. Good plug and good fire. Cart is very hard to start, choke makes no difference. When it does start it doesn't like to idle but runs well at full throttle. Exhaust is extremely hot and after 10 to 15 minutes of riding it starts to lose power and backfire. Is it an air leak? Is the fuel too lean? I'm confused?! One question, the auto oiler has been bypassed but there is a line from the oil tank to the engine that is still connected. Us that ok or should I remove and plug? Thanks in advance, Dave |

Re: My cart won't start again!
a hot pipe indicates a lean condition. Check for air leaks, check compression, clean carb and inspect/clean jets make sure the pilot jet is not plugged

Have you pulled the plug and checked color?

Maybe we missed something here. This is a 2cycle? Are you mixing oil with your gas? If the oiler is not connected the engine is not getting lubricated?

Re: My cart won't start again!
I found this on ebay. Will this work on my 81 G1? I discovered that the throttle shaft is loose on my carb. It appears to me that the carb is just worn out. Any help or thoughts are appreciated?

Re: My cart won't start again!
I don't see a link on your post but if your carb is drawing air thru the shaft opening that will cause a big problem. I have never removed the shaft but if there is a seal you can replace you should be good to go.
