Default liquid Gasket Help -

I am cleaning, jetting my carb putting on the Plowman's performance kit. There are 2 paper gaskets on mine, (I would of thought there would have been at least 1 more. one between the motor and plastic spacer, then one between the spacer and carb. these are in bad shape. can I use liquid gasket maker or do I have to wait and order replacement paper?

i would get or cut some yourself. that liquid gasket may dissolve with fuel on it. plus, trying to clean that up later will be a pain. i would just cut some new ones. Yes, there should be 1 gasket at the head, 1 gasket behind the carb, 1 gasket between tbe carb and the airbox.

Thanks, I thought there should be 3. I'm just cutting some. One was in good enough shape to trace.

I found mine at my local lawn mower shop in stock. If you needed a new one.

I would order 2 new ones. New one's are soft, and require less torque to get a seal. Less chance of cracking the plastic spacer.

Permatex form a gasket #1 is a hardening solvent proof liquid gasket maker that has proven itself to me over and over. Only that beats it is a new gasket.heh

The permatex is also fairly easy to remove if you use the blue, for when you do get a new gasket to put on it....for those of us who often just can't wait lol.

Yep. I agree. I used permatex black on mine. Didn't have time to order a new gasket before CAW. Still have it on there, and is working great! No leaks!
