Pot box or v glide?
Quote:
Oh snap! (Pun intended) :) ...how the heck did they keep the vglide from crapping out! I wanted to convert my 36v vglide to 48v but was told the vglide is the weak point and cant handle it. It takes big money to switch over to a solid state. Sent via TapaTalk |

Re: Pot box or v glide?
There's two types of V-glide, one like yours which actually flows all the voltage through it, and the other type like the solid state 36 and 48 volt carts had, which have resistors stepped up the contacts on the back to give a the conroller a 0-5K ohm reading.

Hey CTD - that's an awesome graphic!! What document did that come from. I've been trying to find this in all the parts catalogs with no luck!

Re: Pot box or v glide?
Pictured above is a multi-step potentiometer...... it's not a true potentiometer or a V glide... but it works in a rudimentary fashion. This is what CC used from 1997-1999

Re: Pot box or v glide?
They were also on the 93 and 94 36 volt solid state carts, and I've seen them on some newer 48 volt carts than 99.
