Awesome news.

The best way to run lights and accessories is through a 48v to 12v converter. the main reason why is your batteries and charging them evenly. If you draw 12v off one battery it will not discharge evenly with the rest of the pack. Then charging will now be even as that one battery will need more charge time than the rest. This will cause significant decreases in that battery life.

What happened when you moved cables you were pushing higher voltages to the lights, that will just end up blowing them sooner.

So is it safe to assume you mean positive wire from headlights to battery #4 and negative wire from headlights to battery #1? Is that how I would accomplish dispersing it over the whole battery pack rather than just one battery.

Correct, that is why you need a 48 volt to 12 volt converter, to safely power your lights, radio etc. It is money well spent.

Dispersing yes, but the keyword is the voltage reducer that scooter is speaking of. You will not take the headlights directly to the battery pack with the voltage reducer. The reducer's input wires will go to the 48v battery pack and the headlight wires will go to the reducer's output wires which will be 12v.
