Default 2008 club car Precedent brake problem !

2008 club car Precedent

My problem is when I hit my breaks it jumps
like a wheel is out of round. What can cause this to happen ? Is it
electrical or mechanical ?

Please expand on "when I hit my breaks it jumps
like a wheel is out of round" this is vague at best...

When you just let off the gas without applying the brake is it doing this "jumps
like a wheel is out of round" or does it coast or regen as normal?

If this only happens when you apply the brake then your problem is very likely mechanical and could be nothing more than a busted brake shoe or shoes. Have you tried removing the wheels and brake drums and taking a looking inside there?

I agree with teecro. I'd like a little more information as well.

I have a 90 CC DS and mine does what sounds like the same thing. Brakes were not working well when I got it about 2 months ago. Removed the wheels and hubs. Looked inside the hubs, shoes still looked decent. Cleaned inside of hub and blew break dust off brake assembly. reinstalled the hubs and adjusted brake as to be just not touching the hub when turned. When I drove the cart the breaking was much better but the pedal had what I would explain as kick back when the brake was pressed, especially when going at a pretty good speed. I jacked up the cart and turned the wheels by hand and the wheel was hard to turn for about half a turn and then was easy for the other half turn. Felt like a warped rotor on disc brakes. Is it possible to have a warped hub? I adjusted the brake back some and the kick back is much less but breaks do not stop the cart nearly as well.

Sounds like the shoes are not floating like they should. Clean and lube the slides.

ok thanks

What I was trying to say is this. When going down a hill when applying the brake the cart act likes the brakes grab then lets go then grabs again. Over and over !

This cart is a 48v 2008 club car Precedent

This thing has what every it's called when it think is rolling away it will slow down on it's own. And I did not know if this would cause something like this.

I hope I don't sound to crazy LOL

Thanks

Sounds like a warped brake drum. Take the brakes off and clean the slide mechanism and lubricate it. Re assemble the brakes and see if it's any better. If it's not, you may need to replace the drum or drums.
