Default Help deciding on golf cart!

I am about to purchase my first golf cart. I have a friend who is giving me a killer deal on one. It is a 2005 ez-go that he will be puttin the 28 degree clutch in for me also for $2300. I am guessing it is just a base model. What I am needing this thing for is to tow my 3200 lb race car back to my trailer from the end of the racetrack. Trust me this sucker is heavy! I would also like to do a little bit of off roading with the wife, nothing crazy just like 4-wheeler trails. I am just wanting you guys opinions about whether or not you think that a setup like this will do what I am needing to do with it. Oh yeah it is a gas cart also. I am trying to come out as cheap as possible to just get my feet wet with the whole golf cart deal. I will definately fix it up over a period of time cause you guys have some kick *** rides on here. I just want to make sure that even after I lift it and put 22" tires on it that it will still tow the race car without problems. Thanks in advance and any additional input concerning better towing power would be appreciated.

I use my 89 Marathon (2 stroke) to tow my 2800lb race car. You will be fine. I have numerous friends with lifted stock carts that pull their door cars. It's not a Rhino but it'll do fine

You can get'em to pull lots of weight, stopping can be an issue (not the best of brakes) if your towing on hills

Well the stopping problem I have handled. My wife will be driving the cart towing me while I am in the car. I can stop the car from the inside so all she will have to stop is the the cart. What kinda upgrades do you guys know of that will help with power. Especially low end. Top end would be good too! Also do you guys think that I am gettin a good deal for $2300? Thanks

Any suggestions other than the upgraded clutch?

A shorter belt can also help. But, Ireally don't think you'll need it. There is also s performance spring you can put in the rear driven clutch available from the sponsors.
