1994 Yamaha G8 Wheel Studs
hey guys I've got a 94 yamaha g8 and I've stripped out the wheel studs on the front and back... I feel like an idiot. I rotated my wheels from front to back and didn't think anything of it. pretty normal. well I let a buddys girlfriend take it to see her grandmas house and 2 of the wheels came loose on her and she tried to keep driving it. well I got it jacked up and tried to put the lug nuts on and the studs have no threads on them.
so does anybody have dimensions or exact replacements for them. thanks jeff |

Re: 1994 Yamaha G8 Wheel Studs
you think there would be any difference by one year and a different model? also is there any sort of YouTube video or writeup with pictures on how to do it? I am kinda hands on but I've never done anything like this before.

The metrics are all the same except for the length. Plenty of youtube videos on installing wheel studs. Pound out the old ones and pull in the the new ones with some kind spacer and the lug nut.

Just to add, Put the lug nuts on backwards to pull the new studs in to save damaging the taper.
Ask me how i know LOL. |

Re: 1994 Yamaha G8 Wheel Studs
Also, when pounding out the old studs, you need to use a weight of some type with a hole in it as a backstop for the hub, especially on the front hubs if they are cast aluminum.
I would remove the hub and center it over a vice or something. You will break a tab if not cautious.. and ask me how I know!! |
