When that bushing goes bad in the inner sheave sometimes they will make that noise.

Re: G2 belt slipping in driven clutch
Mine seems to be doing the same as described throughout this post. Growling, dragging maybe slipping. The rear sheave halves get supper hot after only a short distance. Mine has the grease fitting, but I'm going to tear it apart to check everything out. How long does the clutch spring usually last? Thinking of replacing the spring and helix also. Any other ideas?
