Question 2 stroke Backfiring problems when warm

We have an early to mid 80's ezgo textron that has no serial # plate but the spot for it was on the passenger side dash. Anyways we are having problems with it spitting and sputtering and backfiring when it warms up the warmer it is the worse it runs. we have already changed air filter, spark plug and fuel filter. Someone suggested valves but don't know how to or where they are or if they even have any. Any suggestions would be very helpful. Thank you for reading this.

Is it leaking around the crankshaft at all? It may be your crank seals.

sounds to me like its floodin out,
check to make sure the choke is working right, then back the throttle plate set screw out, loosen what ever is holding the throttle cable tight to the carb(maybe a wire nut?), pull the cable tight and tighten the wire nut.
turn your fuel/air mixture needle valve 1 turn out.

now your leaned out as much as possible, to adjust for more gas you should be able to tighten the set screw on the back of the throttle plate.

might help-might not, but worth a try

good luck, Dew
