Default Secondary Clutch 2022 Drive 2 QUIETECH IRS

Hi I have a 2022 Drive 2 QUIETECH IRS gas powered golf cart with a lift. The thin top hat washer came the secondary clutch, but bolt stayed. The secondary clutch slipped off. Got the washer and replaced. Torqued it to speck. The next time the bolt and all came out. I replaced all again, bolt, sleeve and washer. but this time added a lock washer. Tonight came off again bolt and all leaving us stranded on the beach. So my question is, why is this happening? Do I have a vibration somewhere maybe? I read somewhere to put it all back together and if the clutch rocks back and forth it should not. Mine does. Thanks for any help.

A 2022 should still be under warranty, let the dealer figure it out. Could be a problem with the input shaft itself. Are you using a good quality torque wrench and using ft lbs and not inch lbs? In any case, if the secondary clutch is rocking, something is wrong beyond just the tightness of the bolt.

Thank you for the reply. Do you know the torque specs for the bolt? I’ve been told 14lbs and I’ve been told 54lbs. I’ve not put 54lbs on it for fear of snapping the bolt.

It's 35 ft lbs on my 2016 Drive, suspect they are the same but no guarantee. Not sure why it would only be 14 ft lbs and 54 does seem like overkill for that size bolt.

21-24 lb-ft.
We have used blue thread lock on the bolt.
What you are seeing is indicative of worn secondary clutch/input shaft which would be odd for a 2022.

So this has been an on going issue since 2007. Its NOT the bolt that is the issue... as stated, its if the clutch "rocks" on the shaft.
Your issue now is, its fallen off 3 times and the risk of input shaft damage exists. So even going in and fixing the rocking issue, you may now have a shaft issue and youll be right back where you started.
Its a simple 2 minute fix when caught early, most of the time by a good tech when doing a service. Generally, once its fixed, your good to go, unless the clutch has fallen off a few times, then it can get ugly. whatever you do, dont put lock tite on the bolt as the bolt backing out is NOT the issue.
