Default Radio installation G22

I have a gas Yamaha G22 and I have a radio sitting here waiting to be installed but I have no idea where a good place to put it would be, same for the speakers. The roof things are cool and all but we have to remove the roof often for transport so that is totally out of the question! I'd also like to be able to have the radio in a weatherproof enclosure. With that being said show me your set up or give me some tips!

No picture, but we used to cut the 2 center drink holders out, epoxie some plastic caps on the underside and mount the stereo head where the decal was. The problem is where to mount the speakers!

I am in the exact same boat. I have removed my roof, so that's out of the question, but I plan on fabricating up a dash board to house a media player, tach, volt meter and vacuum gauge, and a couple of speakers.
My problem is that I have way too many projects going right now. Hope to get to that soon though.

That's another thing I have a volt meter I need to put somewhere as well! Hmmmm I was thinking about closing in the cubby holes in the dash and putting speakers there

Can't help you with the radio, but here's my tach and gauge set-up.

Dave, I see you have a Briggs V twin, but where did you install the probe for the oil temp?

The gauge is for cylinder head temp. The probe is behind the shroud below the header pipe.

ekyeb you could make or but a plug that comes apart where you remove your top & still leave the radio & speakers mounted to the top

Yeah but I'd rather not have anything attached to the roof

You could still use the roof mount option, just add a disconnecting harness for all the wiring for when you have to remove the roof to transport.

Sorry Dave, I didn't see your post before! LOL!
