It would not cause it to fail but you need to upgrade the motor wires as they are part of the current carrying system.

I am gonna assume you have a digital multimeter.....
Are you getting activation at the solenoid? Test for power on the 2 small posts of the solenoid. |

I do not have a digital, but I am sure I can find one to borrow or buy... What should it read, when I test it? Its a 36V cart

you should see at least 36 volts on the 2 small posts.

I tested the two small posts, and got nothing. I assume I am suppose to test them by conecting the black lead to the small post with the black wire, and the red lead to the small post with the red wire?
I ordered a new solenoid, today.... I hope that I did not jump the gun.... |

Yes ,..... with cart on jacks, key on, in gear. peddle depressed.

Ok here we go again I got a new solenoid and that did not fix it!!! When I depress the gas pedal, I hear the click, but no go at all!!! What next cart gurus?
