Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
okay - well the at rest total pack charge was at 33.1 volts. I put the charger on and checked the two leads comming from it, the voltage read 44.5 to 45.2 back and forth as it charged putting my meter on the wires from the plug to the batteries. the amp meter on the charger always shows about 15 to 20 amps when I first start charging and then slowly decreases as it charges. the voltages in each battery before I began tonights charging (going from left front proceeding counter clockwise to right front)were; 6.7, 6.7, 4.3, 6.4, 2.3, and 6.7.

Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
The 2 & the 4 volt batteries are toast... the charger will not shut off and you will have to replace them to run or charge .....

Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
Discouraging but very helpful. the 2.3 is the one that was hooked up backwards.

Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
here are the voltage readings at 12 hrs and 24 hrs after full charge on automatic charger. From left front to right front counter clockwise; 12hrs- 6.8, 6.8, 6.3, 6.7, 5.9, 6.9. 24hrs - 6.7, 6.7, 6.3, 6.6, 4.1, 6.8.
I will be getting the hydrometer today and possibly exchanging the battery and getting another new one. once that is done and the battery charge is up to par, is there a way to check the controller without the motor hooked up to see if it was damaged? |

Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
Check controller output with volt meter connected to B+ and M- at full throttle you should get close to pack voltage.

Re: Hooked up one battery backwards!
Since hooking up 1 battery back-wards only "-" the total voltage going to the motor.
I doubt very seriously you caused any negative effects to the motor. Leave it on jacks reconnect everything , and test for short period ! If this works, remove jacks and test on the ground if it works U'r good. |
