I think there is also a new wire harness - separate part number - needed if you plan to hook up lights to the factory harness.

• If vehicle is equipped with lights, the existing light wire harness must be replaced with Kit CCI P/N
103486801.
• If vehicle is not equipped with lights and you want to install lights, order the 8V Standard Light Kit
CCI P/N 103420402 or the 12V Standard Light Kit CCI P/N 103420401.

Or just use aftermarket kit !

Not debating . . . but, who says?

Any industry source . . . manufacturer, dealer, cart rep, repair shop, fleet maintenance company or course?

Yeah, I read that.

But, is this something Club Car has suggested, or is involved with?

Why do you have to change the on board computer, charger plug and other wiring if all you are doing is changing number of batteries but not voltage? Why can't you just move the electronics now mounted in the center of the battery tub and put the 6 - 8volts in.

Because the OBC is designed/calibrated to the number of cells in the pack. If you change the pack configuration, the OBC must be changed also.

This is just a guess, but it makes perfect sense to me, LOL.
