Default 89 club car stopped and will not go

I have an 89' club car that stopped all of a sudden. It was running fine. It has new batterys. When you push the peddle the solenoid clicks. I tried to by-pass the solenoid and sparks came out of the controller.

i jumped my solenoid while the forward/reverse lever was in neutral and that made sparks. i then figured out that it had to be in forward. when i jumped the solenoid in forward the cart went forward. i need a new solenoid. thanks

And U'r lucky U don't need ,more new parts .

Never attempt jumping a circuit while powered up.
At 350-400 Amps this thing is a big welder , or electric chair
