Default 89 club car solenoid

Will a solenoid made for a ford work on my golf cart? Does it use 12 volts like a ford solenoid

The main difference beside the voltage is the fact that automotive solenoids are designed for momentary use and GC solenoids are designed for continuous use so even in a 12v gas cart.... you can not use an automotive solenoid.

can,t tell you how many people say theres no difference other than GC soleniods cost more so its well ok go ahead use an auto one, they get it after they replace it 5 times and end up paying 3 times what a GC soleniod cost..................................

A golf cart uses a 2 wire system for everything, there is NO FRAME GROUNDing allowed
