What body to choose

You can go as wild or mild as you want with this airplane theme. I just finished a cart build for my father in law. He has a ski natique boat with ski racks and wake tower speakers, etc. I wanted the cart to match the boat, so I custom built a canvas covered aluminum top (with the help of a canopy shop, and cost 800 bucks) and then fabbed small speaker enclosures like the wake tower ones. I even fabbed a roof mounted ski and wake board carrying rack just like the boat. Slapped a couple of correct craft stickers on the sides and it looked like that ski boat ( in style ) on wheels !!!

Here's a whacky idea, go out to the boneyard and see if you can find a small tail
(vert stabilizer) and rudder and fix the rudder so it doesn't move. I don't know if you can find one the right dimensions... but if you could, you could have the paint stripped, polish it, and use it for a roof... I am not sure how it would look from the side, if it would still look like an aircraft part or not, but if you did it right it would look intentional and not junky. The rivets alone and exposed spar on the rear woulld ID it as an aviation piece or "wing" to the average person... perhaps even number it after it is polished and stripped.... Just brainstorming after several beers here : ) It would be light enough and if you put a rear seat on I can show you how to reinforce the roof supports simply.

Good ideas there Rusty. Wished I lived in the same state even as the boneyard. I'm just south of Houston. I'm sure some kit maker will be building a theme style airplane body for golf cars soon. Heck I might even look it to it. The design possibilties are endless. You could have everything from figher jet kit bodies to barn stomers that could bolt right on. This message will self destruct in 30 minutes. BTW I have a Ski Nautique and would love to see some pics of that build.

haha, i saw some of those at the scrap yard the other day! (ok, ok.. so it was like 3 years ago...)

i went back to buy the only decent looking one and some dude was loading it up in his chevy blazer. i asked him what he was going to do with it and he said he was planning to power blazer with it.

I have it narrowed down to a TXT or Precedent. The TXT has a better canvas for painting in terms of larger body to airbrush more cool stuff but the CC has a better frame and I like that fact it's 48volt. I'm looking at each one currently from 2 different sellers. Been working with an airbrush painter on ideas.

Those both have pro's and con's, both good carts though, but personally I like the look of the precedent better, but I like Club Cars, soooo : )
The EZ go is 36 volt so I am not sure what your options are on speeding it up, and like I already "argued" the aluminum frame has a higher aviation related cool factor : ). The EZ GO 's look a little dated to me, but what do I know. Precedent bodies are cheap, so if your airbrush guy screws one up no great loss, plus they are easy to remove and install. Just make sure he uses the proper platic compatible primers on any of these carts.
