Testing motor
when testing the motor for continuity do the cables need to be unhooked or can it be tested while everything is still hooked up. I have tested it while still hooked up and have no continuity at the post and no continuity to the case which I dont want anyway. Unhooked wires at controller and tested motor continuity there. Green wire still attached to solenoid to white . No continuity.
Unplugged blue wire and orange wire, checked and had continuity. 04 Precedent, 48v, IQ. |

Re: Testing motor
There are no stupid questions, only when its not asked is it stupid?
I ALWAYS DO SHUT DOWN AND DO EXACT BATTERY CABLE DISCONNECT AS SHOWN IN OWNERS MANUAL BEFORE DOING ANYTHING TO VEHICLE POWER SYSTEMS. Continuity should be read across F-1 and F-2 Continuity should be read across A-1 and A-2 |

Re: Testing motor
I did have the tow/run switch set to tow when I did this if that makes a difference.

Re: Testing motor
With battery cables unhooked it makes no switch (tow-run) difference when testing motor continuity.
