The batterys should have a date stamp on the post. The serial # should be under steering wheel on passinger side , The first letters tell what controller (AA) is a series cart and so on the next two numbers should be year (99)= 1999
The best thing on line is take pictures and post them with serial # this will help tell alot. 48 volt should be a round plug in to the cart. a 36 should be flat. Also the # of holes in the top of the battery will tell you. 2 volts per fill hole. Also welcome to the forum.

If the batteries are really only a couple months old, you are almost buying new batteries and getting a cart and charger to go along as a bonus. Good deal if you are happy with what you are getting and everything is clean and works.
