no reverse

I have an intermittant problem with my EZ GO (1995) it sometimes will not go in gear, mostly reverse. Sometimes forward but mostly reverse. Peddle to the floor nothing. I will play around with it taking it in and out of reverse and usually it will catch. Then I could go a week and it wont happen. I called for cart mechanic to come out and he checked it out completely, batteries good nothing loose, couldnt find anything and of course it wouldnt do it. It went into gear everytime. Charged me $90 for not finding the fault. Now it is doing it again and I dont know what to do. The batteries are fully charged. It runs fine once you get it going. I would be very grateful for any help you can give me. Thank you very much for your time

Tell your mechanic your cart has bad F&R contacts and he owes you $90

Seriously, try tightening up the center shaft nut (9/16ths) on the back side. It might help you limp along a while longer but, sooner or later you will need a HD F&R switch..

ok scotty, thanks for your help. I'm just an old fella , called a golf cart place and they sent someone out. Wish he had your knowledge. Now I have to figure out F&R contacts and center shaft nut. lol I will try to find someone to help me , thanks so much for your time and kindness, I really appreciate it.
