Re: 85 ezgo wiring assistance
Looks like you have a resistor cart with two microswitches on F/R assembly, so this should be the wiring diagram for your cart.
Also looks like someone has rewired the two switches and some other stuff. Should be a wire from keyswitch that connects to C terminal on one and is jumper to C terminal on other. The wire from the NC terminal of the microswitch on your right in the picture goes to one of the small terminals (coil) on the solenoid. The wire from the NC terminal of the microswitch on the left, goes to the beeper. The second black wire on that terminal has been added, for what reason I do not know. Wire it as shown in the attached diagram and it will run. ------------ The two accessory switches appear to be add-ons, so they will not appear on any factory wiring diagram. |

Re: 85 ezgo wiring assistance
ok so i mite have blinded by frustration yesterday because as i look at the diagram that crash test dummy posted it looks like what i have. i think i just didnt know what the hell i was looking at lol the reason i say that is because it has the little round thing ( sorry i dont know the technical name ) between the two switches wired to them and the one that johnnie posted has the two switches wired t each other . am i missing something or am i just plain over complicating things ?
and i do thank you all for your patience with this newbie !!!!!!! |

Re: 85 ezgo wiring assistance
TThe wiring diagram posted by Crash - has one microswitch and a beeper (The round thingy) on the F/R assembly.
The picture you posted has two microswitches and a beeper on the F/R assembly. The schematic diagram I posted has two microswitches and a beeper. The difference between a wiring diagram and a schematic diagram is that the wiring diagram shows the physical layout while the schematic shows the electrical layout. EZGO used the same F/R assembly in Marathons, Medalists and TXTs with series wound motors, but some had one microswitch, some had two microswitches and some had three microswitches. A Marathon resistor drive cart uses either the one or two microswitch versions and the Marathon controller drive carts uses either the two or three microswitch versions. I can post the schematic for the one microswitch version if you want, but the F/R assembly you have, has two microswitches and somebody has wired it differently than it was originally wired. There really isn't anything wrong with wiring it different since there is more than one way it can be wired and still work. The problem is that the next person that works on the cart won't have a clue what goes where. |

Mea culpa and my apologies. Thanks for enlarging and rotating the drawing so what few brain cells I have left could sync up with what these old eyes were feeding them. |
