One to push it open and one to pull it closed, then adjust the cable set nut with pre-loading the spring so as the nut is about a half inch from the mounting bracket when not touching the gas pedal
awesome sir! thank you. that looks exactly like the setup on my cart

Oh good......

Here's another pic, this one is of my 85 set up. It's different than yours as you can see the cable is simply double nutted solid to the mount with no built-in anti-backfire spring, Ezgo did good in 88 by re-designing it with the spring like yours.

I only posted this to show ya how I installed the two cable stops with just a tiny bit of slack on each side of the throttle lever, after this pic was taken I installed a pen spring between the last cable stop and the backside of the lever to accomplish the same anti-backfire thing. (Thanks to the member Cart Around)

In my case it wasn't necessary to put the first cable stop on as the lever is spring loaded to WFO but I didn't like relying on it, or the slight delay it may have reacting and the possibility of it floating around. This way it's absolutely positively where the gas pedal is, when I floor it I know it's floored lol and everywhere else in the range.
