Been using a 12" DUB sub in a homemade box for a couple of years, without an amp. It is always TOO loud for the campground security....

Hey guys...I have asked this question in a couple of different threads, but you guys seem to be really knowledgeable on this sub/amp topic and I need some help.

I am using the subwoofer RCA outputs from the back of my HU and trying to run the amp off the batteries.

When I connected the HU, I connected the ground and then connected the power and auto turn on/off to a positive terminal and it works great. However, when I connect the ground and then the power and auto turn on/off of the amp, it pops the fuse.

What am I missing? There's only a ground, power wire to batt and output from HU, but somethings making the fuse blow. I tried two different amps to rule out an amp issue and its happened on both.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Tell me more about the cart. 36v? 48v? Where are you making the connections at and if on the batteries then what post are you using?

I have always been a fan of Bazooka tubes and they do make a marine version that I believe is already amped. Won't do you any good though as you already bought the equipment. I also prefer the ported boxes and have built many for cars and trucks. Haven't built one for a cart yet. Probably because I know how crazy I would get and would have to carry a generator to provide enough power to run for more than a few minutes..
