Default picked up another EZGO. Pretty Rough

I went over to a guys house to look at this cart. I really only wanted the motor but when I got there I saw that the motor was all taken apart and so was the cart. after talking to the guy and deciding that I really didnt want to spend any money on this he ended up giving it to me. It actually came with a bunch of other EZGO parts. So now my wife is really going to kill me. I now own 3 ezgo's, 1 Yamaha, and one Par Car. All of them except the Yamaha are not in running condition. lol looks like I have some work to do. ...I will keep everyone posted on my ezgo adventures.....

"GET TO GETTIN". Tell her you're building one of 'em for her. Keep her busy by having her look for her own ideas. This is a good forum... aint it?

Free is good until it leads to alimony.
Sell some parts and get a couple running.

What model of EZGO is that? If 350 cc or even a 295, I might be interested. Just complete the parts (head and block and probably carb). Quote me. I am also in the So. CA area.

its an 88 marathon. with the 2pg. it has the vertical muffler set up. I now own three of these motors and I believe they all need rebuilt. I would really like to try one myself but I am nervous to spend the money on the re-build kit and it not work right.

I believe its the 295. I dont really understand what you are asking but if you are interested then you should come take a look at it. I am in the Corona area. Im really not sure what I want to do with it yet but I sure have alot of parts for this cart now that I own three of them.

mike, if that is a 244cc 2pg, then i would tear apart your motors till you find one wth a good bottom end. the crank is where the $ are. with a good bottom, pick out the best cylinder. if it is not scored i would just order a piston and ring kit. when you get this slip the piston into the bore and run a feeler gauge down the side. you can have up to .oo7 clearance. if you have this (.007 or less) LIGHTLY hone it and put back together. very easy and fun. the one i did was right at .007 and right after rebuild, before it was even run it had 130 compression..
