Aftermarket Lift blocks are in FACT illegal to use in some states. (google it) Haven't seen any laws pertaining to carts though. We're talkin automotive aftermarket lifts. Factory uses them but thats the way they are engineered. I dont think they consider them "lifts", just part of the stock suspension. Even then its only a few inches at most.

As far as blocks on the front of an ezgo golf car...a couple of inches is fine IMO. (2-4 inches) Anymore than that and your asking for trouble.

I'm with Roady on block-height.Any more than 4" on anything(carts,trucks,etc..)is asking for trouble. As i said before,On a truck, always use a block that is thru-bolted with the center-bolt,I've seen Mud-Trucks with the front-axle doing cart-wheels in the u-bolts when the blocks kicked out!

there is no blocks too "kick out" its square tubeing with flat plate welded on both ends and bolts going all the way though everything, it would have to break the bolts to come out. mine is just the the one in the pictures posted earlier

jl, this the kit we used and it had no spacers like you are talking about. also a dog boned shaped strut off a dodge pu was added between the frame and axle to help keep it from bending under.

I installed the same 5" kit from E-Bay on my 88 Marathon. The two round pieces of pipe you talk about are called shims and they go between the original shock mount on the rear axle where the shock used to be. They prevent the shock mount tabs from deforming when the bolt is tightened as the shock is no longer in between the tabs.

The kit I installed was the same as you guys have in pics. The block kick-out was in reference to using them in trucks. On a cart,good-luck trying to blow them out, unless you aren't qualified to tighten the bolts!(sadly there are some of those out there, which is why I had a kit to install this weekend!)I have been eliminating the rear shock-extenders and using Monroe 32207,or Gabriel 81676 shocks. They are a bolt-in replacement and eliminate extenders.Hope this helps.

littlecartguy, the shims i have are way to long to fit in there...i guess i could cut them down.. the ones i have are 1 15/16'' long but the space between the 2 ears is only 1 1/4''

pachanga, does these replace the shocks front and rear? mine are not the same front to rear... i dont like the shock extenders either, how much are the replacement shocks and where would i find them? since the space between the ears on my axel are differant from littlecartguys, could it be that we have differant shocks too?
