Re: elec cart troubles
Check the treads on my posts, "82 Club Car inoperative", sounds like my problem, but I don't have a solution yet.

Re: elec cart troubles
Charles,
You can check continuity of the switch. There are two wires at the bottom that change the polarity. There are two wires than move with the switch in the center (on my switch a white wire and a black wire), these contact one of the wires at the bottom for forward or reverse polarity when the switch is moved from neutral . There is a wire at the side of the switch that then connects to the wire contected on the moving switch (center wire), then that side wire goes to the motor. You should be able to check all the switch contacts for continuity, also can check for voltage. The voltage measurement on the last wire above will be tricky since it may read zero, but may just mean your meter connection may not be right (need to make sure you have negative meter wire in the proper location to detect a difference of potential with the positive meter wire) If you detect an open, then the switch or connection is bad. Hope this helps, make sense? |
