G19 in need of torque
My wives cart is in some serious need of some torque. We use it to do the chores on our property and our driveway and property inclines are really steep. Anyone who has seen the reason for my 18hp big block carryall build would understand, the need. Im not sure on the stock controller as far as what it is. There is a gentleman here selling a 300 amp GE controller. I wanted to do a major long travel, blah blah blah upgrade but I really have no time. Not to mention, it's not really a cart I would cherish. If it were clean, I'd say, lets drop the money on it. but it's not. My question is this
Would a 300 amp controller, with the stock solenoid, stock motor and stock golf cart configuration be a decent route for getting just a little bit more power? Batteries are good. Normally, if this was a cart she loved, I would do the full monty. but for a beater anyways... is it worth the extra 200 for a new controller? |

Re: G19 in need of torque
sounds like a stock g19 controller to me. not gonna gain any torque. more amps = more torque, 300 is right around stock amps.

I just got my g19 rolling for the first time. I too would like more torque(of course who wouldnt). All stock electronics w/20" tires.batteries 1 week old. Speed is decent but it slows pretty good going up a hill especially when the charge isn't full. I might slap a plum quick bandit motor in there because it's cheaper than a controller. In the meantime the battery cables are kind of janky. Some are 6g some are 4g.some are crimped (and corroded)and some are soldered. I have a 25ft piece of cable that a buddy gave me that came from the power wire off of a centrifuge in the oil field. .I know it's overkill but it was free and the strands are silver coated..going to use some 1/2 copper tube to make the lugs.uploadfromtaptalk1463747823236.jpg
