99 Club Car DS Generator Amperage Output

Hello All,

I did some searching and have not been able to find out what the (amperage) output is for the Starter/generator in my 99 Gaser. Can anyone please tell me what amperage or wattage it can produce without hurting it?

That was part of an earlier discussion thread and 17 amps was quoted as the max from a stock Club Car generator. Keep in mind the original design was for just a golf cart: keeping the starting battery charged. It was never intended to keep up with all the "stuff" we end up putting on them.

Thank you for the info Meimk. I'm sorry I couldn't find it in the earlier posts. I plan to try and keep the "stuff", lights etc., drawing less than the max output of the generator so when I'm running at night for long periods of time it will not completely discharge my battery. I should have no problem keeping it under 17 amps, my only concern is the my marine radio. Worst case scenario I will just have to sing to my passengers on the long night trips
